My Three Angels Extra
My Three Angels Extra By: Donna Maddamma December 1, 2008
It is true that there is a multitude of Christmas shows available to help your Holiday spirit along. You could watch a typical Scrooge or hum along with a familiar Musical, but why not check out something different this year. Runway Theater is proud to present a different take on a Christmas Play. My Three Angels gives you a different perspective of good versus evil. This play will make you re-think your first instinct about the good guys. Are the bad guys really the bad guys? Travel to French Guiana during the turn-of-the-20th-century and into the home of a family who has their lives deeply affected by convicted criminals in an un-expected way. “It’s pretty darn funny,” states director Phil Nixon. “I think it’s going to be a fun show. I’m going for the laughs at every turn,” he added. A never-ending stream of lies and stretched truths from Joseph a convicted con man will have you wanting a pen and paper just to try and keep up with the truth. Joseph’s conniving ways are confusing yet his heart tries to be in the right place. Along with his two other convicted friends, Joseph, played by Charles E. Beachley, III mix their haphazard lives with the normal lives of the family for which they are putting on a new roof. This, of course, could only lead to one hilarious stunt after another. The girls a cow but she’ll give milk is the line from Henri Trochard played by Bill Blackford that stirs in the subplot. Henri controls the store that Marie Louise’s family works in and lives behind. Marie Louise is completely smitten with the fantasy of the perfect wedding and the perfect life and has convinced herself that Henri’s nephew, Paul is the perfect man to make all her fantasies come true. “The scene where Paul and Marie Louise see each other for the first time and Marie Louis just comes on really strong to him. He’s just twisted in the wind. It’s a priceless scene,” comment Bill Blackford. Unfortunate for her, Henri has promised his nephew to the daughter of a wealthy businessman in the city. Too tempting to pass up, the three convicts entangle themselves into Marie Louise’s dilemma as well. Brandie Konopasek who plays Marie Louise had this to say about her character. “She’s a little too over excited…a lot! She’s very over the top.” Throughout the play other characters bring their own little plots mixing and mashing My Three Angels into a Christmas play not soon forgotten. This play will definitely distract you from the stress that the holiday season can often bring. “You know that great feeling when you come out of a great comedy and all of life’s dramas have just shuffled off for the hour and half or two hours of the play, that’s what I want to happen.” [Brandie Konopaske]. My Three Angels playing at Runway Theatre December 5th through 21st. Friday and Saturday nights beginning at 8:00 and Sunday matinee at 3:00. Doors always open one hour before show times. You may purchase tickets here on line or by calling 817-488-4842.
